The Saudi Authority for Internal Auditors is an independent professional body operating under the oversight of the General Court of Audit. It was originally established in 2011 under the name Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors by Council of Ministers Decision No. 84. In 2025, the Council of Ministers approved amending its name to the Saudi Authority for Internal Auditors and transferring the authority to issue professional licenses related to the profession from the Ministry of Commerce to the Authority. The Authority aims to uphold international professional standards for the internal auditing profession.
